Well, Hi. Born in Virginia, from there moved to Australia, then back to the U.S. to live on the West coast, where I've been every since. Love the ocean, scuba diving, fishing, you know, doing thing where we get wet! Hmmmmm? I've kinda short on words right now. Absoutely love music, prefer easy listening, nothing loud, OK? Folk music, yeah, that too. Dinner jazz. So now you see? Slow and easy! Yeah, that'll do the ticket! Ciao (Chow) for now. ----------Roo

I have been listening to Bruce Williams since about 1981 or maybe a little before. Mr. Williams has earned my deepest
respect for his ethics. He has the longest running radio
talk show in America. Mostly financial, but he has
a real down home personality. A damn nice guy.

While visiting a Bird Photography web site, there was a link
this web site. I love music, especially easy listening
instrumental. This is a good site for that genre.

National Public Radio is where I spend a good deal of my
free time to get more than just "talking heads" and "sound
bites" like on other media, (namely tv) For hard hitting
hard news, and reporters who aren't afraid to ask
the tough questions, and for some great one
on one interviews with famous people and those on
the "fast track", go to NPR.

Gosh, just heard some sobbering stats on an NPR (National Public Radio) show.

It seems NPR was interviewing the New York Times Legal
correspondent and they were discussing the high
incarceration rate in the United States. Apparently
we are Number one in a few catagories.

We have far and away the most people in prisons/jail
than any other country. We have well over 2 million
persons in lock-up. China, with 1.7 million people
and #2 on the lock-up list, has 4 times our population.

We are the only country that sentences juvilles to life
in prison. We have over 500,000 people in prison for
breaking our drug laws. That, according to the NY Times
reporter is where we are also number one in the severity
of
punishment. Most other countries have more lenient punishments.
I thought otherwise, but guess I was misinformed.

Other countries have more robberies and thefts than we do.
We are number one in the murder rate. (Sounds like
a lotta rage out there)

We are one of only a very few countries that elect judges.
Which means probably, that the judges who run for
election, are tough on persons who commit crimes.
They mustn't look weak on crime to the public. Now that
makes a person sit up and notice, Hey?

Are we on the right track? I don't know. But I do know this.
It is my feeling that a lot of people who do dumb things
get caught up in the American Crimminal/Justice system
and that system does things to them that brutalizes them.
I have met a few people who have been in prison, many of
them are obviously mentally damaged.
I'm a lay person, but even I can see this.
One person who has mental health problems once
told me that the prison he was in was
called the "House of Pain."

If you like fighter jets, then this video will
really get your juices going. Some beautiful
photography and the film is exceptionally well done.
I believe the jets are French Mirage. I know the air
tanker is an AirBus 600 which is European.

Oh goody! I've come across a mystery in StumbleUpon,
I have, I have. In a earlier blog, I posed a question
about whether someone could find another Stumbler if
they knew their name but that person wasn't a "friend".
Ok, well, you've probably guessed, Aha! he's found the
directory he has, he has. Quite right. I have.

But here is the poser! Now, I did look up that persons
name because, we have both lived in another state besides
California. Ok, I found this person, and read a little
about her. Now, what I don't understand, is, when I go
to read her blog, StumbleUpon gives me the message "no
such person in StumbleUpon. But clearly, she is right
here! I mean, I even clicked on the "add as friend"
button. And she's right here on my home page. Ain't
life "mysterious"? Maybe she's really a ghost, or
maybe she works for the CIA, or NSA? Goes under-
cover from time to time, right? Maybe I'll try and
send her an e-mail and see if she responds. What
should I say, "I know you work for the CIA, but
your secrets safe with me?

I'm sure there is a logical explanation for all of this.
Gosh, I sure wish Mr. Spock (no not the doctor) was here.

I'm back after installing some more software so I can
watch and listen to different "stuff". I also
downloaded a spell checker and a dictionary and put
them on my menu bar, so that takes care of that chore.
Now, lets just hope I remember to use them, hey?
I wonder if maybe this is the right look and color
for this page. Maybe I'll experiment. Only thing
is, I can't remember how I changed the color. Oh,
well, I'm sure if I look around, I'll find the
format commands.

Got me phone off the hook. While "surfing", don't like
to be bothered. If its really important, I can still get
an e-mail alert. Ain't technology grand?

Just don't ever get a pager. Especially if your boss
wants you to carry one. I once had a job like that.
Got blimming tired of the 3 a.m. calls, ya know?
